Mental Health Safety & Awareness with Suicide Awareness & Prevention

The construction industry has traditionally focused on physical safety hazards such as falls, equipment, and environmental conditions. However, one of the most significant and often overlooked risks on today's jobsites is mental health.

Construction professionals face demanding schedules, workforce shortages, financial pressures, and personal stressors that can impact focus, decision-making, productivity, and safety. In addition, construction continues to experience one of the highest suicide rates of any profession, making mental health awareness a critical component of a comprehensive safety culture.

This engaging and practical 90-minute presentation combines Mental Health Safety and Awareness with Suicide Awareness and Prevention to help participants better understand the challenges facing today's workforce and learn practical strategies to support themselves and their coworkers.

At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the connection between mental health and jobsite safety
  • Recognize common signs of stress, burnout, and emotional distress
  • Identify warning signs that a coworker may be struggling
  • Learn practical ways to start supportive conversations
  • Understand available resources and pathways for assistance
  • Help create a culture where seeking help is viewed as a strength, not a weakness
